Continuing Professional Development for retailers

The Crafts Council’s Continuing Professional Development programme for retailers offers events to challenge and engage participants, helping them gain new skills, obtain access to examples of best practice and develop networks. The programme is aimed at established, new and potential retailers of contemporary craft.

The chance for retailers of craft to network and share ideas is extremely valuable, helping them learn to identify key areas for business development and to maximise potential, while promoting the value of craft as an alternative retail option to the high street.

The days are programmed for anyone owning or working in a public or private retail space where contemporary craft is or could be sold.

Achieved so far:

The days held to date were developed as a direct response to the needs of craft retailers, giving them the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas.

Events are held at venues around the country as well as London, to ensure we are accommodating the needs of retailers working in differing areas and environments. Therefore for those happy to travel, many of the events provide an opportunity to visit other venues allowing attendees to network and contrast working practices.

Attendee feedback helps us with the necessary information to continue to develop our programme to the needs of our attendees.
