Making Dialogues

Taking a wide definition of contemporary craft, this research will explore and illuminate existing creative dialogues. The research will examine the influences craftspeople draw on to create their work, the dialogues that they develop with that influence, and will seek to nurture new dialogues.
Forming part of a wider debate, the exhibition will focus on the process of creating and making craft. Of particular interest are makers with a close relationship with material qualities, processes, and techniques used in the creation of objects or expression of concepts. Makers with a contemporary craft focus, and those with a craft background but working outside the traditional practice will be considered.
