Visit the newly reopened Ditchling
Museumof Art + Craft, which is
a finalist for the Art Fund Prize
for Museumof the Year 2014. This
small gem in East Sussex focuses
on the artists and craftspeople
whomade Ditchling a creative hub
in the 20th century. In 2014 the
museum’s display focuses on the
key members of this community –
including the artist Eric Gill, the
calligrapher Edward Johnston,
the painter David Jones, the
printer Hilary Pepler and the
textile designer Ethel Mairet.
New visitor facilities include
a café, shop stocks a wide range of
items influenced by the museum’s
collection and a dedicated
learning events with a programme
for children and adults.
