Design Days Dubai 2016

Building markets for British craft across the globe

The Crafts Council took eleven makers to Design Days Dubai from 14 -18 March 2016.

British craft has a strong heritage and is revered around the world for its quality, energy and innovation. We support makers to realise their ambitions to work with international clients including collectors, galleries and retailers by showcasing their work at world-class design fairs across the world.

For the fourth year we took a group of makers to Design Days Dubai so that they could explore this new market supported by the Crafts Council, UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and the British Council.

The selected makers were: Aline Johnson, Fay McCaul, Stuart Akroyd, Angold / MussonJuliette Bigley, Regina Heinz,  Full Blown, Rita Parniczky,  BeatWoven, and Marcin Rusak.

“British craft is revered around the world for its quality, energy and innovation, and the market is strong, with 7% growth forecast for 2015/16. The Crafts Council is proud to be returning to Design Days Dubai for its fifth edition, and our selection this year continues to reflect the diversity and excellence of contemporary British practice.” -- Annie Warburton, Creative Director, Crafts Council.
