Portfolio enables makers to work in collaboration with other industries

Portfolio works in partnership to develop opportunities for makers to work in collaboration with professionals in other sectors.

This pushes their practice forwards and allows them to explore often unexpected routes, enabling them to share their skills and ways or working in order to contribute to progression and innovation in other sectors.

Portfolio projects explore problem-solving and the makers' process and learning.

The story so far

To date Portfolio has engaged makers with technology and architecture professionals and is currently working on a healthcare and medicine project.

Parallel Practices is the current area of exploration for Portfolio looking at craft and healthcare and medicine. This project is also a key partnership project within our Innovation programme.

Craft + Tech residencies ran from January to March 2013 in partnership with Watershed in Bristol.

Place Making was a residency project developed in partnership with Design South East (formerly Kent School of Architecture) and Historic Dockyard Chatham that took place in 2013.

We want makers who want to develop their practices in new areas and are collaborative and generous practictioners to be invoved in our Portfolio projects.
