Buy/ BUST Magazine Christmas Craftacular/ 16 December 2012
London
General Information
On Sunday December 16, New York-based women’s pop-culture magazine BUST brings its popular alternative craft fair back to historic York Hall with a curated line-up of talented designer-makers – including both household names and up-and-coming businesses.
With a mix of vendors selling everything from illustrated ceramics to ethical taxidermy, reworked vintage furniture to children’s toys, the BUST Craftacular is a one-stop destination for unique Christmas gifts – not to mention the season’s most desirable screen-printed wrapping paper, signed and sold to you by Rob Ryan himself (and all for only £5).
Alongside the stalls there will be a pop-up café selling coffee, tea and lots of cake by Bake & Crafthouse and a fully-stocked bar, next to which Jazz Domino Holly* will be setting up camp with her Handmade Hangout. Reinvented from its initial incarnation at this summer’s Strummer of Love festival, this indoor, tented area will allow attendees to kick back in style and rustle up a snowflake catcher (aka a wintry dream catcher).
The day’s other activities are as follows:
Fashion a festive fascinator with Hatastic – 2pm-3pm.
Engage in a spot of stitching and “craftivism” with Craftivist Collective’s Jigsaw Project for Save The Children’s Race Against Hunger – 3pm-4pm.
Craft a sequined bauble with GranMade at Great Croft – 4pm-5pm.
Join in with hula-hooper extraordinaire Miss Contance Irkles – 5pm-6pm.
DJs: El Nino and The Make Escape
Entrance is £2 on the door, with free goodie bags for the first 100.
