Buy/ The Cambridge Glass Fair/ 23 September 2012

General Information

The devastating fire and subsequent destruction of the Chilford Hall barns in June has meant that the next Cambridge Glass Fair on Sunday 23rd September has been moved to Linton Village College.

Linton Village College, which is located approximately one mile from Chilford Hall, has just opened its new wing which will provide a light and modern environment for the glass fair.

As always there will be a special exhibition highlighting a particular glass collecting area. The exhibition for this fair will feature Victorian dumps and contemporary American paperweights. Peter Sellers, author of ‘Victorian Dumps, Paperweights, Mantel Ornaments, Doorstops and Whimsies, 1820-1914’, will be curating the dump exhibition while the Cambridge-based Paperweight Collectors Circle is providing the contemporary weight display.

In addition, the online collecting group Whitefriars.com will be staging an exhibition entitled ‘Whitefriars 20th Century clear and coloured cut crystal’.

Contemporary artists who are showing at the fair include Vic Bamforth and Allister Malcolm from Stourbridge, Rowan van der Holt from the West Country and Gloria Macarthur, a local artist from Hertfordshire.

Refreshments and free parking will be available.

Linton Village College, Linton, Cambs. CB21 4JB. Open from 10.30am – 4.00pm, admission is £5 with free entry for accompanied children under 16.
