WIN! Bespoke Christmas Decorations
Imagine taking delivery of a Christmas tree that was ready-dressed with beautifully hand-crafted decorations. Well, if you enter our free prize draw at this year’s Open Studios, that tree could be yours. Designs adorning our Cockpit tree this year will include miniature etched ‘Tree Jewels’ by Another Studio, gold lustre porcelain baubles from ceramicist Jo Heckett, a tiny sheep in hand-knitted sparkly jumper by Mary Kilvert and baubles in English oak and American black walnut by Frank Boggis Rolfe.
For a truly bespoke Christmas, come along to Open Studios and enter our free prize draw.
Alumni Showcase
A selection of past favourites will be returning to Cockpit Arts with new work to show at the Open Studios. In Holborn look out for Anne Barrell, Amanda Doughty, Mary Fellows, Catherine Hills, Sarah Lindsay, Sian Matthews, Katherine Pogson, Kate Schuricht and Scott Wilson. Cockpit Arts supporters are invited to a special Alumni Showcase breakfast preview in Holborn on Friday 30 Nov from 10am. Winter Petals Workshop
Keep the children entertained with creative fun! Jeweller Clara Breen has designed our free ‘Winter Petals’ workshop at Open Studios. Children of all ages are invited to make their own decorations with reclaimed card using Clara’s clever templates. In her own work Clara plays with the notion of the contemporary keepsake by using slices of leaflets, train tickets and maps in her paper and silver jewellery. She has also run successful workshops at the V&A. Winter Petals is open from Sat & Sun, 12-6pm at both Holborn and Deptford. We can accommodate 6 children at a time on a first-come, first-served basis and children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Live Music
On Friday night at Holborn Open Studios the halls will be swinging to ragtime tunes by guest musician Rockin’ Mark Vis on his vintage mobile piano.
Hand Made Food
Relax mid shop and enjoy seasonal delights from Ferg and his fabulous team at our Hand Made Food pop up café. Treat yourself to pomegranate and walnut tabouleh or organic Shetland Isles smoked salmon bagels. Hot dishes include game pie, a cassoulet with confit pork, Toulouse sausage and greens, as well as ribolitta, a Tuscan-style bean and kale stew served with parmesan. To follow, indulge in sweet treats including Curly Wurly cup cakes and whisky and orange bombe. Pep yourself up with mulled wine or espresso based coffees brewed from Dark Fluid Schrodingers blend.
