The conference ‘Pairings: Conversations, Collaborations, Materials’ is part of the on-going development of the Pairings Project at Manchester Metropolitan University. This project involved 32 collaborations between design and craft practitioners and the exhibition is currently touring the UK. The exhibition project can be viewed here

The Pairings conference will include papers and discussions which focus on:

• collaboration within and across disciplines

• good practice of how to work between institutions and collaborate with outside partners

• collaborative curating of exhibition

• collaborative student projects

• influence of collaborative strategies on learning and teaching practice

• collaborative manifestos

• cross cultural collaboration

The Key note speakers are Dr Glenn Adamson Deputy Head of Research and Head of Graduate Studies, V&A Museum and Alke Wegener University of Staffordshire.
