The Crafts Council and UK Hand Knitting Association’s Craft Club initiative has expanded into a range of community settings including museums, libraries and cinemas across the UK in 2012. Following hugely popular training days in 2011/12 including V&A Museum of Childhood Craft Club will hold another informative and inspiring day for competent knitters and craftspeople who wish to set up clubs in schools and communities to pass on their skills and enthusiasm for craft at Manchester Art Gallery on Fri 19 October 2012.

Craft Club works on the premise with volunteers passing on their skills to others in a fun and lively environment – in this case to parents as well as children. It will strengthen bonds between local communities and between family members by enabling them to learn new skills together.

Craft Club is one of the Craft Council’s flagship participation and learning programmes and is all about pioneering craft in schools and communities.
