Learn/ Craft Curators’ Day: Investing in the Future/ 16 October 2008

General Information

The Craft Curators’ Day is for curators and professionals working with craft collections and offers the opportunity to network, discuss practical and theoretical issues and exchange knowledge. The overarching theme this year is Funding, which will be addressed through presentations and successful case studies. In the afternoon there will be an opportunity for curators to talk about exciting projects or new acquisitions in their organisations.

Last year’s successful and well attended Craft Curators’ Conference was organised in partnership with mima in Middlesbrough. The conference focused on the collecting dilemmas for the craft curator from various points-of-view. If you were unable to attend, you can download the transcripts or watch videos of the presentations on the Kingston University website where you will also find downloads from the Tales of the Unexpected conference held at mima on the previous day.

The Craft Curators’ Day coincides with Origin: The London Craft Fair, at Somerset House. Origin is open until 9pm on the 16th of October and attendees to the Craft Curators’ Day will receive a complimentary ticket.
