Learn/ Craft Rally – the Industry of Making/ 8 December 2010
General Information
Makers contribute much to the creation of consumer goods that are considered, valued and cherished; but how do we take steps to bring individual thinking to global manufacturing; and how do we harness industry to make extraordinary objects?
These topics will be explored during a full day of workshops, inspirational presentations, discussions, networking and socialising with craft and design practitioners, industry specialists and researchers.
Craft Rally – The Industry of Making will focus on the importance of makers’ understanding of materiality and process, and how this, through their own individual creative voice, can lead to diverse activity and collaboration within a practice. Be challenged and inspired to develop your own thinking and practice, and exchange ideas and experiences with craft makers from around the country.

Delivered by the Crafts Council and Design Initiative in partnership with Manchester City Council and Manchester Metropolitan University. As part of Crafts Council Collective, a programme of professional development for makers.
