Learn/ 'Crossings' - Association for Contemporary Jewellery/ 19-21 July 2010
General Information
Presentations and workshops are from the USA, Australia, Sweden, Greece and the UK. Wendy Ramshaw & David Watkins are the keynote speakers talking in conversation about the crossovers throughout both their long careers and exploring why there have only been three collaborations.
Other speakers and workshop leaders include Professor Robert Ebendorf, Cynthia Eid, Susan Cross and textile artist Michael Brennand-Wood.
Through a programme of presentations and workshops, this conference will explore the crossing points, intersections and collaborations that feed and stimulate exchange, debate and the development of new ideas and directions within contemporary jewellery practice.
- How do collaborations, partnerships and interfaces between differing practices and approaches feed into individual practice? – How does cultural and geographical cross over influence ideas? – Can the material and technological constraints imposed by cross disciplinary practice lead to new thinking and novel solutions? – What happens when disparate practices and approaches intersect?
