Opening on 12 October 2008, edge-textile artists Scotland, are showcasing an exhibition of new work which promises a mix of 2 & 3D contemporary textile and mixed media artwork alongside traditional embroidery and weaving and a variety of craft items.

Edge is an established group of Scottish textile artists and all members have followed a formal recognised education in textiles. We have a reputation for innovation and creativity, where colour, texture and design meet excellence of craftsmanship and detailed execution of ideas. Several of our members are lecturers at Scottish Colleges of Art and Further Education, and our aim is to promote all aspects of contemporary textile art. The strength of the work produced by edge today lies in technical expertise, diversity of subject matter and a challenging approach to mixed media art.

Since 2000 the edge group has exhibited regularly in Art Galleries and venues including Edinburgh’s City Arts Centre, MacManus Galleries Dundee, Collins Gallery Glasgow and the Knitting and Stitching Show.
