Why Attend?

There are great strengths and traditions in craft education in the United Kingdom. However, there are increasing challenges to the future of craft education in schools and universities, not least significant economic pressures.

This one day seminar explores how schools, universities and leading agencies such as the Council for Higher Education in Art & Design, the Crafts Council, and the National Arts Learning Network can create a common agenda that addresses current weaknesses and maps out how we can work together to sustain craft education in the future.

Specifically, it will focus on the following issues: – The Value of the Crafts – Craft Entrepreneurship and the Real World – Nurturing the Next Generation of Craft Practitioners
