Learn/ Materials and Processes: The Future of the Craft of Making/ 23 October 2008

General Information

This one day seminar explores how schools, universities and leading agencies such as the Council for Higher Education in Art & Design, the Crafts Council, and the National Arts Learning Network can create a common agenda that addresses current weaknesses and maps out how we can work together to sustain craft education in the future.

Specifically, it will focus on the following issues: – The Value of the Crafts – Craft Entrepreneurship and the Real World – Nurturing the Next Generation of Craft Practitioners

For participants from schools only.

Who Should Attend?

This seminar will, therefore, be of value to those responsible for the strategic
direction of craft education, those who plan and organise learning resources and the staff who work with students in classrooms, studios and workshops.

The day will focus on sharing relevant information through short presentations and by facilitating discussions in which participants can share their experiences, identify
issues that need addressing and together determine actions for the future.
