Michael Brennand-Wood is internationally regarded as one of the most innovative and inspiring artists working in textiles. Examples of his work can be seen in major collections worldwide. He makes elaborate, eye-catching wall-hung pieces that are part sculpture, part textile. They are covered in an intriguing variety of materials including textiles, wood, flags, CDs and badges; and have elaborate visual patterns masking profound meanings. He has persistently worked within contested areas of textile practice, embroidery, pattern, lace and floral imagery.
