Visitors will be asked a simple question and write the answer on a ribbon, then weave their answer into a structure.
This year for the first time Origin will feature an opportunity for visitors to participate in creating craft.
Up to 5000 ribbons will be woven into the walls of a circular mesh structure over the two-week span, with the written answers of participants to form its skin.
It will be an evolving crafted space, containing in its walls the thoughts and dialogue inspired by objects made, bought and sold at Origin. A place of refuge and creativity, the project offers an insight into the process of making both an object and the space within it. We will be putting the public at the centre of the work and their written experience of Origin in its very fabric, providing a critical context for the event.
