A fascinating and innovative exhibition from a dynamic group of 17 craft makers who first met through the Crafts Council’s Hothouse programme.
This diverse collection of artists are held together by a core theme that draws from Sir John Soane’s vision of Pitzhanger as ‘a sort of portrait’ – it was here that he displayed his collection of paintings, books, architectural drawings and fragments. Completed in 1804 as his weekend retreat and entertaining venue (now Grade 1 listed) Pitzhanger is a stunning example of the late Georgian style and acts as a fascinating back drop for this exhibition, with work spanning from the PM Gallery into the house’s beautifully appointed rooms.
