The Crafts Council Collection
Representing the very best in British craft over the last 35 years, the Crafts Council Collection covers the whole range of contemporary craft practice with more than 1,400 fascinating objects from both established figures and upcoming names.
The Collection features traditional and functional works representing the best in the sector in quality and skill, as well as experimental works that push the notion of craft to its limits. The definition of craft is embraced in its widest sense, from its interface with cutting edge design to its crossover with fine art.
With a new Acquisitions Advisory Panel, made up of makers, critics and curators and an ambitious acquisition policy, the Crafts Council continues to promote the highest standards in contemporary practice through an annual purchasing programme.
The Collection is exposed to the widest possible audience by showing work through Crafts Council projects, including loans, partnership projects, touring exhibitions and showcases such as Select at Collect.
