General Information

Tent London have produced an ever-evolving design show for six years now and with the show content changing by 50% each year it always remains ahead of the curve. 2012 sees Tent’s amazing reach bring together over 200 international exhibitors from over 26 countries. Established independents and ‘new finds’ will show the very latest in contemporary interior products – furniture, lighting, ceramics, textiles, materials and accessories; alongside spectacular Feature Elements, and presentations from Country Pavilions such as Hungary, Norway, Taiwan, Japan and The Netherlands.

~ NEW ENTRANCE FOR 2012 ~
A sleek new entrance on Hanbury Street will be shared between Tent London (first floor) and Super Brands London (ground floor). Although very much two separate exhibitions, they will share one registration area and a talks arena, enabling visitors to see two first-class shows in a truly impressive and unique exhibition space.

~ FEATURE ELEMENTS ~
3 x Installation Spaces – A series of three large-scale installations by international architects and artists, as voted for by subscribers will be presented at Tent London 2012. Selected installations: Foam Party by Martijn Rigters, Cell Cloud by System Design Studio and Light House by Neon.
Arcade Shooting Gallery by Incognito – Visitors will be able to literally shoot out the lights from 50ft away.

Show Design – Bringing a mix of high impact colour and pattern to Tent’s industrial backdrop, drawing inspiration from De Stijl, Memphis and contemporary street art, cult stylists McEnvoy Curtis have been commissioned to design key elements of the show this year.

Trend Trail by Mix – Global Color Research™ will create a unique opportunity to see how the colour green continues to be a significant colour in the design world, exploring trends from 2011 to 2014. The trail will be also be accompanied by a daily talks series.

~ COUNTRY PAVILIONS ~
Throughout the Brewery gallery spaces, Tent will be joined by several country pavilions showcasing their nations design identities:

100% Norway – A fresh selection of exciting new works from Norway’s emerging and established design talent and leading interior manufacturers. Curated by Henrietta Thompson from Wallpaper* and Benedicte Sunde from the Norwegian Design Council. Exhibition design by Amy Hunting and Oscar Narud (Okay Studio).

Connecting the Dots – A strong selection of 12 Dutch design studio’s will form the first ever live edition of the Dutch design publication. Commissioned by NL Agency, Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation.
Fresh Sense Taiwan! – Taiwan Design Centre’s mission is to show the world that the era of “Design in Taiwan” has arrived. TDC will bring over 20 design products demonstrating great originality and promote international exchange to strengthen market competitiveness.

Love, Keep In Mind: Here Comes Hungarian Design – The Hungarian Investment and Trade Agency (HITA) will showcase 12 designers from across a range of disciplines including furniture, lighting, textiles and ceramics.
The Academic Centre of Entrepreneurship (UCP) – Presenting a diverse range of products created by students and graduates of the historic Academy of Fine Arts (Warsaw)

Mashiko Pottery Japan – Championed by Eames, Bernard Leach and known the world over for the quality of clay and exquisite glazed finish of the pieces, this presentation will be a rare opportunity to see the work of the regions skilled craftsmen including Tomo Harada
