Collect is the only gallery-presented art fair dedicated to modern craft and design. Now in its 16th year, the annual Collect talks programme is returning, exploring contemporary craft with leading voices from the worlds of craft, design, architecture, fashion and art.
LOEWE FOUNDATION presents Where Craft Hides at Collect 2020
Since its launch in 2016 the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize has recognised some of the biggest global names in craft, many of whom have been represented at Collect over the years.
LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize president Sheila Loewe will introduce a chaired talk by jury president Anatxu Zabalbeascoa between Craft Prize 2019 finalists Kazuhito Takadoi and Giovanni Corvaja for the Collect 2020 headline talk on Saturday 29 February. These two masters of their crafts will talk about unconventional structures and materials, contemporary craftsmanship, their own practice and how being finalists of the Craft Prize has influenced their careers.

Crafts Council Creative Director, Natalie Melton, brings together a diverse panel including interior designer Kit Kemp, to discuss how, where and why craft is being purchased, and who these buyers and collectors are.

The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust chair Nick Crean leads a dynamic discussion with QEST maker scholars, around innovation in the use of materials, pushing their properties, discovering new ways of working, creating the unexpected.
Maker's Eye, Maker's Voice | 15:00
Crafts Council Head of Exhibitions and Collections, Annabelle Campbell, talks to three makers who have contributed to the forthcoming Crafts Council exhibition Maker's Eye at the new Crafts Council Gallery.
Jewellery as art, jewellery as metaphor | 16:00
Daniella Wells, contemporary craft consultant, brings together a panel of experts to discuss contemporary jewellery as wearable art.

Carol McNicoll in Conversation | 12:00
Maverick ceramic artist Carol McNicoll has been an influential figure on the ceramics scene for over 50 years. She will discuss her life and work with art historian and Crafts columnist Tanya Harrod in what promises to be a fun, candid and colourful with a true one-off.
