Liana Pattihis and Sofia Björkman

Collect Open 2020, Stand E3a, East Wing

Liana Pattihis and Sofia Björkman are both jewellery artists based in London and Stockholm respectively. Their collaboration is presented as a Vertical Wall Garden, comprising a collection of enamelled chain jewellery and 3D hand drawings. Both their techniques push boundaries and are far from traditional.

Apart from her trademark method of enamelling on a movable base-like chain, in her latest series Pattihis incorporates porcelain pieces from broken or unwanted objects in her work, giving them a new identity and function. By using renewable bioplastic, on the other hand, Björkman has embraced the technology of 3D hand drawings, creating organic pieces that are rich in colour and texture in her instantly recognisable and unique style.
