Collect Open 2020, Stand E1, East Wing

LOT is a collaborative project between three makers: jewellers Sarah Pulvertaft and Jed Green with embroiderer Beatrice Mayfield. Their work is united through the importance of materiality, pattern, movement and a thoughtful use of colour. Each of them imaginatively transforms raw materials into beautifully crafted, wearable objects.

The three have developed a collaborative process of working, loosely based on the 'exquisite corpse' method. They respond directly through the work rather than designing as a trio. This form of working pushes them creatively and encourages them to examine their usual methods. Once each maker has worked on a piece, they come together to discuss final resolutions.

They have created six brooches with a focus on colour. Responding to the choices has provided a new challenge and resulted in some exciting outcomes.
