Shelley James

Glass artist Shelley James draws inspiration from science to create her complex and compelling sculptures.

Her background in textiles, printmaking and branding inform her research-led practice, which combines groundbreaking digital technologies with traditional analogue approaches to this remarkably versatile and beautiful medium. Her work is in public and private collections including the Gordon Museum and the Corning Studio, New York. Recent projects include collaborations with mathematician Sir Roger Penrose, physicist Sir Michael Berry and a residency in the Natural and Mathematical Sciences Department at King’s College, London.
