Tal Batit

Collect Open 2020, Stand E2, East Wing

BATIT Studio is a design studio based in Tel-Aviv, Israel, founded in 2017 by industrial designer Tal Batit.

Batit was born in 1988 and graduated with distinction from H.I.T, Israel. His eponymous studio specialises in innovative ceramic design, sculptures and talkative objects. Batit mixes inspiration from ancient ceramic traditions and cultures with a contemporary palette and finish, giving a distinct post-modernist flair to his quirky creations while retaining the artisanal quality of the natural materials.

The studio's works always deal with contradictions, dissonances and contrasts, both textural and visual. Ethnic : Synthetic comprises thousands of ceramic pieces, created by slip casting into moulds. The different pieces are interwoven and create a three-dimensional pattern as a new and modern interpretation of a carpet.
