For the last two years, lifestyle brand TOAST have gathered friends and collaborators to host a series of talks, workshops and live demonstrations for the TOAST Creative Residency.
This year, our long-standing partners are taking inspiration from their Autumn/Winter collection, Rewilding, to create a three-day programme that supports our intrinsic connection to the world around us. We’re thrilled to be hosting the residency at the Crafts Council Gallery from 21-23 October.
Together, we’re on the hunt for an Artist in Residence to a create site-specific work in response to the theme and newly opened gallery space. We would like you to respond to the collective lack of control we have been experiencing over the last year and half, and how this has fostered a glorious and complex new relationship with our environment. We encourage you to explore repurposing, reinventing and reusing materials. Following the residency, the piece will become part of the Crafts Council Collection.
The Artist in Residence will receive a fee of £1,500 for time spent on the project and materials. Travel expenses will be covered separately (subject to approval).
