How to work with the media
Featuring in a magazine, newspaper or on a local radio station can do wonders for a craft business as it endorses you and your business. In this talk we will cover how to build relationships with journalists and writers (the media), when to approach them and how to supply them with all the information they need in a professional way.
Our guest speaker for this talk is Imogen Belfield. Belfield is known for her distinct style of mark making in metal instantly recognisable, one-of-a-kind creations that are handmade in the UK. Belfield's covetable pieces have won the attention from a plethora of super stars including Olivia Colman, Sophie Turner and Beyoncé and she has featured in Vogue, FT, Harper's Bazaar, WWD and The Guardian.
Alongside Imogen will be our own Crafts magazine editor Malaika Byng. Malaika is a design, craft, architecture and art writer and editor with 15 years of digital and print publishing experience. She has founded a magazine, edited a book and written for publications across the world. She has also worked as an in-house editor for titles including Wallpaper* magazine and House & Garden (South Africa version).
