An exhibition of jewellery and sculptures by 6 Asian-Pacific artists selected for Collect 2021

Anna Davern (AU): Jewellery, Aya Ito (JP/TH): Jewellery and Sculpture, Yuki Sumiya (JP): Jewellery and Sculpture, Imhathai Suwatthanasilp (TH): Sculpture, Fumiki Taguchi (JP): Jewellery, Rudee Tancharoen (TH): Jewellery.

Jewellery and small sculptures are vey intimate by nature and require personal interactions to be fully appreciated. We all know that with craft art, the devil is in the details, and the artists selected for this exhibition have unique ways of expressing creative ideas through high craftsmanship in every detail of their creations. The artists have put their heads, hearts and hands into creating beautiful pieces of craft art that one needs to come see and experience up close and personal.

This special Collect 2021 exhibition runs between 22 February - 14 March 2021.

CHOOSE YOUR CUSTOM MADE NDEBELE TABLE

Adoráble ART+DESIGN will organize 3 Live Zoom events during fair days, focusing on the iconic Ndebele Tables by Melchior van Dansik. The artist will be at the gallery to assist curious collectors to make a mix and match selection of his individually prepared unique table tops.

Collectors can browse on our up to date website for one or a set of table tops and at the session make the final decision about the height of the table (55cm, 75cm or 95cm) the color of the legs (rusty iron, blackened iron or stainless steel) and the binding wire (red copper, silver thread or gold-plated copper wire).

Top and legs are mounted without screws or glue, just strongly fixed with the wire.

This long necked elegant creature is likely to lead a nomadic existence in your house, moving from one spot to another. It will go wherever you need it to be.

Collect 2021 at London Glassblowing runs from the 24th February – 17th March. This exhibition

showcases a stunning array of works with a special spotlight on artists who will feature in the Crafts Council Collect 2021 from the 26th February – 2nd March on Artsy. These include Peter Layton, David Reekie, Colin Reid, Tim Rawlinson, Louis Thompson, Davide Penso and Bruce Marks.

We will be launching two exciting new creatives, Kate Pasvol and Sophie Layton. Kate’s gilded portrayals of landscape, assembled in layers to create tableaux, and Sophie’s exploration of glass enamel painting, are exceptional examples of historic techniques in the service of contemporary craft. They consolidate the gallery’s ongoing mission to nurture new and exciting talent.

    Email for appointments: info@thecynthiacorbettgallery.com

This February Cynthia Corbett Gallery is inviting you behind the scenes of Cynthia Corbett’s Wimbledon home to virtually enjoy our Collect 2021 curation. The Gallery is particularly fortunate as our model was to always involve Wimbledon HQ and enhance our international presence with appearance at venues and spaces fitting our programming and ethos. For Collect 2021 we are recreating what we would have physically shown at our booth at the Fair – in our Home Gallery space in a historic former Victorian convent.

Virtual viewings over Zoom, Skype, WhatsApp or FaceTime are available by request via
