In July, the UK woke up to the first Labour government in 15 years. Ahead of the party's first conference since taking power, Crafts is holding an online discussion about what public policies makers need to flourish and what the Crafts Council could do to support them. Come along and contribute your thoughts.
Textile artist James Fox (known for stitching political commentary into his embroidered artworks); artist; writer and lecturer Charlotte Warne Thomas (whose research has often centred on artists pay, working conditions and class barriers); Han Ates (founder of jeans brand Blackhorse Lane Ateliers); and Grace Lee, (an interdisciplinary artist and scenography maker) will be among the speakers on this panel. It will be chaired by Crafts Council’s executive director Natalie Melton.
This is the first in a new series of Crafts talks and articles called Making It, focused on the future of the craft sector and professional practice. We're delighted to invite Crafts members of all tiers to book their complimentary ticket now.
