Last year’sWest EndDesignDistrict has
been transformed into aQuarter.
Organised inpartnershipwithVisa, the
idea is to unite four areas of central
London:Marylebone andMayfair,
Holborn andTottenhamCourt Road,
Fitzrovia andRegent Street, andCovent
Garden and Soho, which between them
include stores such as Another Country,
TheConran Shop, JohnLewis, Skandium,
Republic of FritzHansen andTracey
Neuls.Within each area all Visa
cardholders can take advantage of
discounts across a select number of
design-led stores throughout themonth
of September. All the shops and
showrooms taking part are listedwithin
a dedicatedmap of the area (see page 70
formore information).

The exhibition isn’t all about selling
stuff though
This year’s chosen charity is Teddy’s
Wish. The exhibition’s organisers have
curated the installation
AChild’s Dream
in
partnershipwithAnglepoise and ercol.
Nineteenof theUK’s leading designers,
including PearsonLloyd, FayeToogood,
TomDixon, Paul Cocksedge, andAb
Rogers, have been invited to customise
the iconic AngleposieType75mini desk
lamp and the Stacking chair fromercol’s
Originals collection. The funds raised
froma subsequent auctionwill aid
further research into SIDS, Stillborn and
Neonatal Death Syndrome and support
grieving families. (see page 66)
