We make lustreware using porcelain, clay pastes applied with a brush, and reduction firing. The technique was discovered 1,000 years ago by potters in the Middle East and has been rediscovered many times since. It requires careful attention to every part of the process, but still yields surprises enough to keep us interested. We have worked on this for the last 20 years, but there is plenty still to be explored.

Focus:
Reduction fired lustre decorated with clay paste

Available for commissions
