Briar Rose

About this project

My recent ArtWorks Fellowship with the National Glass Centre allowed me to have an experimental approach that combined traditional engraving skills with digital technology to create a new body of work that explores a mixture of fairy tales and feminism. ‘Briar Rose’ combines water jet cut fused glass with a silvered background and pâte de verre roses. I have drawn crosshatched lines into the leaves with a stone wheel on an engraving lathe.
