About this project

This woven sculpture was commissioned for the top landing of a private house in Portishead, England.  Materials: monofilament, enamelled copper, stainless steel. Size: width when hung 4 metres, using 9 metres of woven fabric. The overall form and shape represents the amazing movement of a murmuration of starlings witnessed at the bottom of my garden. The colour and weave structure is derived from imagery of copper and zinc mines along with streams of molten copper.
