About this project

Jan has produced work for Dewsbury and Ravensthorpe Health Centres, Yorkshire, The Brain Injuries Unit Musgrave Park Hospital, Belfast, The Neo-Natal Unit, Queens Hospital, Burton on Trent and Tokyo New Hospital, Matsudo City, Chiba, Tokyo. Jan’s research considers how textiles respond to and meet the physical and emotional needs of people within a space, exploring the possibilities of heightening the users’ sense of ‘well-being’ through the integration of textile artwork within public spaces.

Looking up from below the panel to the glass roof. The intention was to create a sense of well being through the work produced, contemplative and relaxing but at the same time stimulating curiosity concerning materials and construction.
