Inspired by ancient forms and fossils Judy contrasts texture, glaze and surface to create powerful, fascinating objects. All the pieces are one-off, thrown on a wheel, often manipulated, joined and squeezed. She uses raku firing as well as an electric kiln, making additions to the glaze to create volcanic, bubbling surfaces. Pieces are often fired multiple times to achieve the desired result.
Her work ranges from experimental sculptural forms to functional and decorative ware.
