Liz Clay

Felt maker and textile artist

Wells, Somerset

contemporary bespoke textiles

£200 — £3000

Trained in the creative arts, I make hand felted textiles for haute couture and one off pieces to commission. Influences are as diverse as the work I produce. Experimental in my approach, nudging the boundaries of an ancient craft towards new and unexpected directions in contemporary practice. British wool plays a significant role in my designs. Working these wools during the felt process is seductive: it’s a slow and painstaking process for a high end result. The aim is to surprise and delight.
