Monolith

About this project

The outline shape is inspired by the great monolith standing stones of Callanish on the Isle of Lewis and reflects the hand carved nature of the stones made hundreds of years ago. The reticulated part demonstrates the texture of the stones and the asymmetry of nature. I allow the marks left by the hammers and files to remain giving texture and light to the surface while also giving the surface a unique hand finished quality.
