About this project

Traveling stitches are a collection of textile artworks inspired by Melanie’s travels in Mexico, Antigua and Scotland. Abstract drawings and mark making explore space, journeys and reflections which she translates further through stitches. Melanie travels with her embroidery kit as a tool box to create textile artworks which reflect the spirit of place and emotional space. Her drawings are printed onto linen which is stitched into.
