This work is all hand built from porcelain. I stain the clay myself (meaning the colour is integral to the clay, not on the surface) which allows the final pieces to be placed in any orientation with no fixed base. Each object is hand built when wet from hundreds of small brick-like pieces of porcelain. I then kiln fire the work at high temperature, letting the pieces be warped, bent and formed by the heat of the kiln. The resulting forms are tipping points or thresholds caught in a static form.
