About this project

Materials: elm, ash, cedar of Lebanon, Isle of Mull tweed & copper leaf.

A Scottish celebration of Elm and fine tweed coming together to make a super comfortable king size bed and matching side tables.

The legs on both the bed and the tables are hand-shaped and share the same elegant curve, creating balance across the pieces.

Copper gilding is used as a highlight on the table top edging, which beautifully reflects light and shows off the elm pattern.

Bed and matching side tables in solid elm with an upholstered headboard in fine Scottish tweed. The oval legs of the bed and tables are hand shaped into an elegant curve and sourced from the same board to ensure consistency of colour and grain. The elm displays the rare quality of fine knots and curls known as pippy.

Designed as a matching pair to sit in harmony with the bed. The drawers are traditionally made with hand cut lapped dovetails and cedar of Lebanon lining. The interior recess allows for book and magazine storage.

Removable stops on the table tops prevent items from being knocked off the slim design, the stop lifts to allow for a tidy way of organising a lamp cable. Hand turned drawer pulls in a matching pair.
