'Mycology Cycle' Sculpture Series

About this project

The sculpture series, ‘Mycology Cycle’, explores the taxonomy of fungi and its diverse beauty. Each piece of rescued wood displays a collection of individually hand sculpted porcelain forms, exploring natural variation and the possibilities of clay, to recreate organic textures and shapes, patterns and colour. The pieces provide a snapshot of the cycles of birth, growth, decay and death, with the ability of fungi to both heal and nourish or infect and decay.
