Chair Caner and Contemporary Seatweaver

Chair caning, seatweaving, furniture

I am a third generation chair caner and seatweaver. I was taught by my father who learned from his father. I restore fine antique and modern woven furniture and I produce contemporary experimental seat weaving.
I use traditional materials, chair cane, hand twisted river rushes, seagrass and Danish paper cord. I also make woven seats from non traditional materials such as leather, ribbon and wire.
I have worked on commissions and collaborated with other designers and crafts people.
