Home Sick Home

About this project

Tattoos have coded meanings to those who are part of ‘the club’. In recent years, they have again become a transportable symbol of identity, echoing how Polynesians and other cultures used tattoos. Similarly, carpets in certain middle eastern cultures have coded elements that portray their identity as well as being something that they would roll up and take with them as they travel. Home Sick Home used hand tufting to make carpets in tattoo form.
