About this project

The still life paintings of Luis Meléndez, Jean-Baptiste-Siméon Chardin, Roland Delaporte and Paul Gauguin are the reference.
Porcelain is chosen for its purity, paradoxical qualities of fragility and strength and its movement during the firing. Following the coiling process, surfaces are painted with many layers of coloured, transparent slips to form a skin-like membrane. Digitally printed ceramic transfers, glaze and gold leaf allude to the porcelain’s history.
