Swan

About this project

I was delighted to find an Ercol swan back carver chair and decided to design and print a fabric for a seat cushion, taking the carved ‘swan’ decoration as a starting point, and referring to my own photographs of swans on the River Wye.

My design uses four printing blocks, the mirror swan blocks overprinting the simple circular shapes into a repeat which carries a serpentine line from block to block.
I’ve now developed the design in different colourways for a range of lampshades and cushions.
