I create unique pieces of furniture for people to attach their unique memories to.
At its most basic level furniture is functional; it’s something to sit on, eat on, or sleep on. In a culture of throw away goods, people can find solace, value, meaning, and dependability in furniture that has an emotional function as well. Furniture is where we make plans, where we create ideas, and where we tell jokes and share woes. When I was growing up, my family had a small round dining table, made from beautifully figured blonde Elm, that a lot of my memories are woven around. The table has been there for over 40 years and to this day it’s still gathering memories.
I make bespoke furniture, designed specifically around each individual’s life and values. Using only ethically sourced timber from the UK and Ireland, I build furniture to last generations so that my client has somewhere reliable to create and recall memories for years to come.
