Onion Plates
During lockdown I started a project called #onionsinlockdown. Sitting in the kitchen, I noticed the lines and layers that appear when you cut an onion in half. I was absorbed by the patterns made by the onion layers and wondered how I could translate this into designs onto clay.
I started some experimental work in my garden studio – not caring what the outcome would be – this was more about my mental health during lockdown than any consideration of how and when the work would be shown.
