Simon Middleton Handwoven

Weaver and Spinner

Beccles, England

  • Website

All Simon's pieces woven by hand on small, non-powered looms. Simon designs on the loom with only the most general idea of palette and textural approach at the outset. He uses sustainably grown fibres and yarns, mostly British-grown wool, combined with silks, plant-based fibres such as nettle viscose, and some recycled yarns. Most of his weaving utilises his own hand-spun wool yarn, and is either undyed, making the most of the natural colours of the wool, or is small-batch dyed in the UK.

Focus:
Handweaving of homewares using my own handspun wool yarn.
Commissions:
Available for commissions
