Cockpit Arts Open Studios in Holborn

A must in the craft calendar: See behind-the-scenes in the studios of 100 of the UK’s finest independent designer-makers. Discover ceramics, textiles, jewellery and a cornucopia of other crafts, all with creative edge

Cockpit Arts was founded in 1989 and soon after started to open its doors so that visitors could see behind the scenes and buy work direct from talented designer-makers. Today Cockpit Arts is an award winning social enterprise and creative business incubator known for supporting some of the UK’s finest craft talent. The Open Studios have grown from strength-to-strength and attract visitors from far and wide. 

A perfect summers day out for all creative enthusiasts there will also be cocktails and seasonal delights served in the Hand Made Food pop up café, ‘Textile Fiesta!’ a free workshop for kids by Zoe Powell and live weaving, pottery and musical instrument making demonstrations. 

Installations and showcases of art-lead and collectable craft works selected by Sarah Myerscough Gallery will be exhibited. The event is free to attend and visitors can ‘Guess the Craft’ to be in with the chance to win £400 worth of vouchers to spend with designer-makers. 

Cockpit Arts Open Studios in Deptford will start the following weekend, with 70 different designer-makers on show.
